Older and Wiser--Maybe, Maybe Not

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.

Today I’m celebrating a couple of things. First, I’ve evaded AARP successfully for five years now although they have pursued me like a lobbyist after a politician, and since the move, they haven’t located me yet. Let’s just say I prefer to have it that way.

And the second occasion, is that it was a year ago that I started the blog. Many thanks to those who have visited, at times enduring long rambling vents and soapbox stances on a huge variety of issues ranging from why I don’t like Hillary Clinton to my worry about a Rip Van Winkle son and his quest to wake up. It’s been fun and just as I thought, I haven’t run out of things to say.

Hope to make many new blogging friends in the new year. Cheers.

Congrats on the blog birthday, I started mine last October. The truth be known, my wife started it for me since she was blogging and I started living longggggggggggg notes on her blog. I have found it to be a lot of fun and I do think you could have a new blog friend here. Anyone who dislikes Hillary cannot be all bad. This is my wife, miss Bee http://muffin53.blogspot.com/ I think you would like her site better than mine, she is nice but I will have to get in your face ever now and again.

I expected some pole beans and a mess of fried okra with good cornbread in the sink today, oh well, I will keep looking.

Glad to see your comments Sarge. I'll have to check out your wife's blog. I love fried okra but I'm not good at cooking it. I don't think these folks in Missouri are as vegetable crazy as we Southerners are. Thanks for stopping by.

Many, many thanks Don. It's readers like you who have enriched my life over the last year.

got any grits

Sheila said...

I love grits--both kinds. I'm kinda trying to stay away from corn related products since I've been on the South Beach Diet. Well, if truth be told, I have fallen off the SBD wagon but not so much as to give up new habits entirely.

Now the other kind of grits, I might need to explain to some readers. G.R.I.T.S. stands for girls raised in the south. We are a proud and feisty bunch. I wasn't born in the south, but I spent nearly all of my childhood there and a good part of early adulthood there.

Hello, this is Joel (I happen to know your son pretty well). Hope things are going good over there in Missouri. I can't believe Scott didn't want to shop for bedding, what has gotten into him lately? This is my blogger account, I figure the name should remind you every time. Thanks for your constant blogging, it is appreciated.

Hey, Music City Boy. Oh now all of the family secrets are out. We are liking Missouri just fine but miss folks like you. Who is going to play my piano for me? Actually, I think Scott does enjoy shopping for electronics. Thanks for stopping by.

Sheila,

Congrats on your bloggaversary!

You can run but you can't hide from those AARP flyers/mailings, girlfriend.

And the Scooter Store knows everyone's address once they hit 30. It's a fact of life.

Blog on, woman!

Miss T
