According to
rivals.com, my Alma Mater, the University of Alabama, is sitting at the top of the heap for National Signing Day. If you are clueless about what I’m talking about, let me clarify. It’s college football and today is the day top high school players signed letters of intent.
Coach Nick Saban and his recruiting staff snagged several amazing and highly sought after players like Julio Jones from Foley, Alabama. Jones is the nation’s number one receiver.
Roll Tide!

Go DAWGS...........smile, always seeking conflict with my friend in the sink.
Dang it! You're trying to pick a fight, but I won't bite. Give the Tide another year or two and we may looking at the National Champions.
Nothing is more important in Alabama than football. Absolutely nothing.
A few weeks ago Nick Saban had a very minor accident with his car. It was front page news in the local paper, right side above the fold.
I had a very similar accident some months ago. Nary a mention in the press.
Jay,
This is all too true. It must drive you non-football fans a bit crazy. We are looking forward to better times ahead for the Tide under Coach Saban's leadership. These players recruited will help reach that goal.
Sorry you had an accident. Is the Prius okay (and you too)?
Sure. The car and I are both OK. I just backed into a tree at the edge of the driveway. It was just a little thud. Surprised me, that's all.
I can totally identify. I have backed into a couple of objects that just sneaked up on me.
"GO DAWGS?" My U of Washington are dawgs. Good job, U of Alabama.
Diane,
I think Sarge's Dawgs are of the Georgia variety. Here in Springfield the state university MSU is also bulldogs. Now I know why our neighborhood has so many of these ugly/cute critters.
U of A is the Crimson Tide with an elephant named Big Al as the mascot. Bear Bryant was never a fan of the elephant of which he said, "They're big and dumb."
ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next to the ULM Warhawks, they're my fave! Except for the Seminoles and the Rattlers and the Eagles (Tallahassee teams FSU, FAMU & TCC). I reckon this don't make no sense, but then when have I ever?
But UA has class -- Been there and I've seen it myself!
BFF,
Miss T
Glad you 'plained about them Rattlers. You warned me last year about the Warhawks and danged if you tweren't right. I am so glad you got treated right in T-town.
A UAB grad myself, but a UA fan ALWAYS!
Rollllllll TIIIIIIIIIDE Rollllll!
It's time for a cover on S. Illustrated again. Hope it's soon!
