Hail to the Chief

PART I
With plenty of time left in the political season, I’ve opened a new cafepress.com shop called “Hail to the Chief.” Here are the first three designs. Of course, I started with the three Democrats I think most likely to have a shot at the party’s nomination: John Edwards, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. I’m thinking of adding a token Republican just to see if any designs sell. Republicans have more money, don’t they? Republican readers, any suggestions? I was thinking maybe Rudy, Fred or Mitt. I’d appreciate your feedback since the mind of a Republican is rather foreign to this Yellow Dog.

I do appreciate your wit and playful sarcasm. I started a blog to somewhat get away from politics. Up until the birth of my blog, I thought blogs were only parking spaces for politics and sports. Little did I know.

I am a Republican and a little disappointed with my party (as you are with yours.) And, I do agree that I would love to see anyone step ahead of Hillary.

As far as Republicans having more money, I just checked my bank account and it didn't resonate with that claim. {{GRIN}} I can't honestly say who I would want at this point, but I'll let you know.

I'll be back. My parents are Democrats, so I have to cross party lines now and then.

Oh happy day,
KJ

KJ,
Thanks for giving it some thought. One reason Unity08 was so appealing to me when I first heard about it was for just the reason you brought up. I was having trouble with some of my choices. Seems this applies to both parties. I still like Edwards and Obama and refuse to believe that Hillary has it all sewn up this early. Sorry to get so political there.

Anyway, I'd be interested to see what the other Republicans have to say.

honey you can all save your money. hillary is our next president and none of us will like it. i am a republican and i like rudy so far but i am not set in stone. i do think he is the only chance of defeating the clinton machine though. i would love a woman president but she would be my last choice after a serial killer. seriously...

smiles, bee

Oh Shelia, only a few months left to move you in the RIGHT, in time for the next election, trust me, I will be making an effort, your southern roots make you vulnerable and I have confidence that you can be moved. There is not a Democratic in the race that a true Southerner can support. November 08, you will be in the RIGHT column.

Miss Bee,
I may be wasting my time, but last election I resolved myself not to shut up and take whatever candidate was ordained by the Democratic Party's leadership before I'd even had a chance to vote.

Oh Sarge,
I may not vote for the Democratic nominee and I may vote for the Unity08 ticket, but I would not and could not vote for any of the Republicans running. I don't demonize any of the present crew though. I feel we need change in the country. A fresh approach and one that brings us together as much as possible. A person who will put aside old ways of getting things done. A person who will cut the aprons strings to lobbyists.

Monte says he is currently collecting treats and sticks for his campaign fund. I haven't deciphered all his campaign promises yet, but I think he barked something about "if you scratch my back ..." How it all begins.

I was wondering if I should have asked for a photo release. I need to get a real job. Anyway, Monte is just so darned cute that I couldn't resist. Do you think this dog can hunt? I can see Monte going far. Will he let lobbyists entertain him? Petsmart should get right on this.

No need for a formal photo release. I think it's fantastic!
Wasn't there just a case where someone had registered their dog to vote sucessfully -- at least for awhile?

I saw that mention and there was another too. I think the one woman changed her plea from not guilty and was sentenced to community service. Of course, she did it to show the flaws in the registration process, not to actually deceive.

I don't think Hilary will be too bad. It's time for a woman President in the States and she will have Clinton at her side. He might have been a problem being a ladies man but on other things he wasn't too bad...plus I have learnt to respect him after all the work he, like Ex-President Carter, does in Africa.

I've never voted for a Democratic presidential candidate, but that's not to say I would never do it. Not this time, though. Not sure yet who I will vote for, but your choices of Fred, Rudy, and Mitt do seem like the front runners. I'd love to see that t-shirt.

Sheila said...

Jackie,
I know Hillary would have Bill by her but I'm not sure what real influence he would have.

DB,
You sound like me but the reverse since I have never voted for a Republican. I think I'll work on a couple of Republicans t-shirt designs just for fun. Fred Thompson is just so somber looking it's hard to find a fair use photo with him smiling. Even his official photos are serious. Now I know he must have fun sometime--look at that young wife.

Dirty Butter said...

Oh, I'm sure Thompson does have fun!! Maybe he thinks he needs to be serious for photos so people will take him seriously as a candidate, not as a television actor. I've heard people equate him to Reagan, but Reagan was president of the actor's guild, which couldn't have been an easy job with all their egos at play. And then, as Governor of California he had plenty of on the job training. I don't know if Thompson's tour in the Senate is enough to convince me he's the right man for the job. But, all that said, I like him the best. Law and Order brainwashed, I am.

Rosemary,
I just read a Rolling Stone article on old Fred. Let's just say he should stick to acting if the writer's perceptions were anywhere near the truth. I never thought I'd say it, but "Fred, you are no Ronald Reagan." And y'all can take that however you wish.
