This Dog Can Hunt

Tired of the usual suspects? Unhappy with the candidates running for president? I have the perfect candidate for you—Monte the English Springer Spaniel.

Lobbyists will soon be flocking to Monte’s door, but all it takes is a good belly scratch and a treat for this candidate. Oooops! Hope there’re no incriminating photos. Monte will flop (but not flip-flop). And he is honest as the day is long. Have you ever known a dog to lie? Well, he does lie down on the sofa, but you know what I mean.

Wonderful. I watched the aarp democratic candidates debate last night on pbs, I think I am becoming addicted to debates, it is like Survivor (my favorite tv show how embarrassing). I decided for my final project for my current web design class I am creating a website all about the candidates and the issues, so now I have an excuse. I should include Monte.

Lorelei,
He won't disappoint!

Marsha,
You are probably the most informed reader I have. I think it's interesting that you are watching so carefully. You certainly know more than I do and your patience with the candidates is admirable. Please include Monte. Maybe we can get the "official" candidates to think about why this Yellow Dog Democrat is so unhappy about some of them that she'd sooner vote for an English Springer Spaniel.

Sheila- I'm in. Dogs are better than people (see my saturday seven post today for further evidence of that too)

PSS,
I'll check it out. Dogs are indeed loyal companions--the ones who stick with you through thick and thin.

Monte would make a great president Sheila. He's so cute. He gets my vote every time!

Thanks, Naomi.

Monte would have won the Democratic debate...... smile

You crack me up, Sarge. Sadly, you might just be right.

Monte's mom says he might be dressing up as presidential candidate for Halloween. I need to tell her I've already had an offer of a donation (not money).

After reading a few of the candidates bios I think Monte would get my vote if I was in the U.S. :)

Does this mean that the election has gone to the dogs? Although, I might be inclined to vote for this one... I just need to know where he stands on the issues. Perhaps you could put some of the issues on paper and then place the papers in various locations of the floor. Please report which pieces of paper he is drawn to and whether he stands on it for any length of time.

I don't go back and read many of the blog comments after I have posted, but I do revisit yours. Very interesting feedback. I will admit that I am a softie for Ol' Sarge and Empress Bee is a sweetie!

Your blog is a bit like mine in that just about anything can be the topic of the day. A all-you-can-eat smorgasbord!

Tootles, kj

Jackie,
Monte will take all votes--even yours from South Africa.

KJ,
Your position idea is great. I'll pass it along to the "candidog" and his handlers.

Sarge and Empress Bee are real sweeties for sure. I like to visit you too for I never know where you'll take me.

He's got my vote, Sheila...does he have a brother for Canada?

Marion,
Your politicians couldn't be any worse than ours could they?

As Will Rogers said, I’m not a member or any organized political party (he actually went a bit further and said he was a Democrat, but I don’t go there).

If I had to describe myself I’d say I’m a constitutionalist who wants to maintain what sovereignty is still left to the USA and go back to governing according to the constitution our founders gave us. For those reasons there are only 2 or 3 candidates I’d even consider supporting for the presidency, and none of them are top tier candidates. If you know the records of the candidates in relation to what I’ve just said you know there’s only one candidate I can give my unqualified support to as of now.

Don,
I imagine it's Ron Paul who seems to fit what you are hoping for. I did find him an interesting fellow. I'd just like to see someone upset some applecarts.

Don said...

Sheila, you're very astute and correct. I'd like to see us get back to governing in accordance with the constitution. Paul has a lot of grassroots support from the left, right, and middle, and he has energized younger voters which can't be anything other than good.

If mainstream media weren't controlled by the Council on Foreign Relations he would be getting the coverage he has earned and be considered a leading contender, but that's just a fact of life. The CFR will only allow us to vote for either CFR Candidate "A" or CFR Candidate "B" if it has its way.

Don said...

Let me add that seemingly very few people seem to even know that the CFR exists or what its agenda is.

I spend a lot of time thinking about breast cancer fundraising because I know that is the fastest road to a cure. And a cure is what all of us who've been touched by breast cancer in any way are working and fighting for.
