Middle Name Meme

Old Sarge tagged me for this little game. Yes, these things are like chain letters, but they do serve to broaden our blogging connections and help create a sense of community.

RULES: You have to post these rules before you give the facts. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

My middle name is Gayle, as in Sheila Gayle, which my mama would always call me when there could be trouble ahead:

Gave up some of my craft supplies but not the ribbon collection.

Attempting to work on my sense of style but hate to shop except online at L.L.Bean, Lands End and Coldwater Creek.

Yearn to find a puppy after a year and a half without a dog.

Love to travel to Italy and think that it’s about time for another trip.

Eating the South Beach Diet way but have to get back on the wagon after a relapse. It works as good as anything does!

And the nominees are:

Trashology - funniest woman I cyber-know

Miss Kwitty's Cottage - looks a bit like Anne Bancroft and is a crafty woman

Southern Gal Goes North
- we both love the Crimson Tide

eye-dyllic - a new blogger who just moved like me

Fear and Loathing - The Gonzo Papers - the token man

As I expected, you did an excellent job, Italy huh, Flying to Rome in October, cruising the Meterian Sea then trans Atlantic to Miami in November.... How is that for a trip.

Sheila Gayle...I can just imagine your Mama calling out, with warning in her voice!

Is there any other way to shop except online? lol

I expect to see a boatload of photos. You have made me jealous. I've never been on a cruise but if I were to go, it sounds like the Mediterranean would be where I'd want to go.

You sound like you appreciate online shopping as much as I do. I stick with a few companies where I know which sizes work for me. If only I could shop for shoes that way, the world would be nearly perfect.

Off to write up my meme...

Sheila! I've tried to post this comment three times tonight and our DSL server keeps going down ... I finally got wise and copied it so I wouldn't lose it ... hope this time it goes through and posts!

I sho'nuff appreciate that you have confidence in me and tagged me with this here meme. (How do you pronounce "meme"? Does it rhyme with "cream"? Or mee-mee?)

No doubt, the blogging community is growing at such a rate we'll soon have to name it, like a town.

We might even have to elect a mayor. If so, I nominate you, Sheila.

Of course, the town will already have an "Empress" -- Her Royal Highness Empress Bee, who shall invite us all for biscuits and tea every afternoon at 3. But this is one of them digressions where I refuse to say "but I digress" because I ain't like everybody else. Digressively.

But you know what? I can't do it. This meme, that is.

If memes could be done with no brain power, like writing this here comment, then I could do 'em all day. But this meme has rules ... rules ... ack! With rules, anything I'd write would be so well-thought-out that people might actually understand me for a change.

And that would be a travesty!

Besides. Can't have nobody knowin' my real middle name.

First reason is because I'm anonymous. Even the Ol' Man doesn't know who I am at least once a month. That's what he tells me, anyway.

The second reason is that when you put the meanings of my first name, actual middle name given at birth, and my married last name together, you get "dark light chicken" or "black white rooster." Semantically speaking, of course.

But nohows, with this here comment, can I get credit anyway for helping create a "sense of community"?

Let's look at it like this: Key West has free-roaming community chickens, light and dark.

I could be this community's cyber-hen.

Reckon that'd be OK?

Miss T

P.S. -- I wuv your middle name!

About that Crimson Tide thing that you and Dana are so fond of ...

They all right, I reckon.

But on November 17, I'll be rooting for the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks ...

Just thought I'd let you know.

I'll see you later.

Miss T,
You are quite the rebel and that's cool with me. Pronounce it in one of several ways according to
The Daily Meme (can't believe there's a blog devoted to this stuff). Rhyme it with 'dream' or pronounce it like 'mem', least ways according to this font of meme knowledge. Me, however, I'm with mee-mee.

You lost me on all that chicken stuff. You definitely can be the community's cyber-hen and expert in chicken . . .

You can root for them Warhawks all you want but I have a feelin' the Tide will roll right over those birds.

Like, you mean, minutiae? I'm on it! (Somebody once told me that the definition of "minutiae" was "chicken..." and that I shouldn't use it in a newsletter because everyone would interpret it as a bad word. He was serious. But, of course, he knew all.)

Now about that "Tide / Birds" thing. I might get lucky and be able to go to that game if I can finagle my calendar around. Keep your fingers crossed that I get to go ... so I can go cheer against your team! Heheheh!

I'd love to see the game. You right ahead and cheer all you can. This is the year of the Tide. That Coach Saben is nearly as cute as Coach Shula was.

Left out "go" as in You go right ahead. Dang, I hate typos.
