Hugo Chavez’s Book of the Month Club

Just when you thought the news was too serious with E. coli in our spinach and Iraqi civilian deaths at an all time high, in steps that wacky dictator who jazzes it up a bit. You probably heard what he said about President Bush. Colum Lynch’s (what a perfect name for a newspaper reporter) story in the Washington Post is a good wrap-up. Now, I don’t like Bush either, but come on, he’s not the “devil.” Anyway, Chavez is now responsible for increasing sales of Noam Chomsky’s book, “Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Domination.” About all I remember Chomsky for was transformational grammar. Now he tops Chavez’s Book of the Month Club.

I'd be willing to give Dubya the title of "Satan", but he's too much of a bumbling moron to be evil. He only does what he's told . . . hmmm . . .

darkly,
I haven't seen the remark again so I can't agree or disagree with your view that it was a joke. Most people don't seem to be taking it as a joke though. I caught a bit of FOX TV at the Y and they were questioning whether people would start shopping elsewhere for gas rather than at CITGO, which FOX pointed out was owned by Venezuela. Well, I thought, probably not until you guys pointed that fact out. I am going to continue to buy my gas at CITGO since there's a station near my house and it's the cheapest gas around. It's now $2.15 and as my husband says, "It's getting close to the election." Betcha it'll be lower still.

I'll have to watch the Daily Show rerun tonight to see Jon Stewart's take on Wacky Hugo.

Tim, Bush has taken America to new levels of disdain in the world. I don't know if he's a moron or just a warmongering rich-boy Republican.
